CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP — A driver was injured when his SUV rolled over and he was thrown from the vehicle on Christmas Eve.
At 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, the Kent County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a one-car rollover with an ejection on 84th Street SE east of Cherry Valley Avenue SE in Caledonia Township.
The investigation showed the the driver — a 35-year-old Caledonia man — was eastbound on 84th Street SE in a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer when he lost control of the SUV and left the roadway east of Cherry Valley Avenue SE. The vehicle rolled over multiple times before coming to rest in the westbound lanes of 84th Street SE.
The driver, who was the SUV’s lone occupant, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was cited for a moving violation.
Caledonia Fire/Rescue also assisted the Kent County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
