ALLENDALE, Mich. — For the first time since 2009, the Grand Valley State football team is getting ready for the NCAA Division II semifinals.
GVSU will travel to Maryville, Missouri to take on Northwest Missouri State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET for the right to advance to the NCAA D2 National Championship Game in Florence, Alabama.
It will be the fifth time since 2005 that the Lakers will face the Bearcats in the playoffs. GVSU defeated NW Missouri State for national titles in both 2005 and 2006. The Bearcats defeated the Lakers in a NCAA D2 semifinal in 2007 and then beat the Lakers in the title game in 2009.
