KALAMAZOO, Mich.- A 19-year-old is behind bars after robbing a gas station. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers were called to the Marathon Gas station in the 1100 block of North Douglas Avenue just after 4 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The store clerk says the man walked into the gas station with a gun and demanded money. After getting some cash, the suspect ran away. A K-9 dog was brought in and found the teen in the 1000 block of Interfaith Boulevard. The teen was hiding in an apartment stairwell there and officers found evidence of the robbery on him.
He was arrested on an armed robbery charge.
