GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids mother is facing charges for the August death of her 5-month-old baby.
Diva Bonita-Louise Robinson was charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter. She was arrested 3 a.m. Aug. 21 for driving on a suspended license, and police say she did not tell them her baby was at home during that incident.
It’s unknown if the baby died before or after Robinson left home.
Roughly four hours after her arrest, a friend who also lived at her home found the baby wrapped in a plastic bag and called police. The baby was found alone on the floor where they and Robinson slept, according to police.
