SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio — Law enforcement are calling it a case of parental kidnapping after a man and woman were arrested, accused of abducting their own six month-old daughter.
The couple is from Battle Creek. Law enforcement say around 10:40 Sunday night, the two took their biological daughter, who was in the care of other family members.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department was able to develop leads and determined the couple was headed to Ohio.
Shortly before 1:30 Monday morning, Ohio State Police stopped a car that matched the description of the one the couple was driving. They were arrested and the child is now in the care of officials in Ohio. They’ll eventually be extradited to Battle Creek.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in Ohio identified the couple as Jamie Herrick and Kevin Kendrick Junior.
