COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – The mother of a missing Kent County teenager took to Facebook early Sunday morning to announce her child has been located.
Relatives of 14-year-old Arissa Vandyke contacted FOX 17 late Friday evening, saying the teenager had left home on November 22nd and was expected home the next day but never returned.
Sunday morning, Sheila Shockency, the teen’s mother, posted to her Facebook wall, “Arissa has been found:)….my baby is ok.” It is not clear how she was located.
Officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department assisted in the search after her mother said she may be at an address on the west side of the city of Grand Rapids. She wasn’t located during that search.
Early Saturday morning, the teenager contacted her mother, telling her she was unharmed.
