MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Monarch Community Bank in Marshall Township was robbed Friday, and deputies are asking for help locating the suspect.

According to a press release, a man walked into the bank, located at 15975 W. Michigan Ave., and gave a note to a teller demanding money.  Deputies were called to the scene at 2:50 p.m.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 6 feet tall.  He has a very skinny build and was wearing a black leather coat, blue jeans, a grey shirt, dark sunglasses and a red baseball cap with white writing on the front.

Deputies say the man did not produce a weapon, and fled on foot into the nearby Kmart and Family Fare plaza parking area. They unsuccessfully attempted to track him with K9 units.

Though the area was exceptionally busy because of Black Friday shopping, deputies are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area this afternoon to call them at 269-781-0880.  The stolen money may also have dye stains on it.
