GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A quick band of snow dropped between one and two inches around much of West Michigan early Thursday morning, with some additional snow showers expected in spots later in the day as well.
As much as another two to four inches may fall in the heaviest bands north and west of Grand Rapids the rest of the day, particularly in parts of Muskegon, Oceana, and Newaygo counties. Locations south of Grand Rapids and Holland will see very little in the way of additional accumulation, although one to three inches will be possible in northern sections of Kent and Ottawa counties.
The above photo from Trudy Huls of North Muskegon already shows about four inches of lake-enhanced snow that fell overnight.
Snow will diminish by Friday morning, with fairly quiet weather anticipated through the rest of the holiday weekend.
