Kalamazoo Man Charged With Stabbing 61-Year-Old

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Benjamin Johnson was charged Monday in the stabbing of a 61-year-old Kalamazoo man.

Johnson, 42, was arraigned on a charge of assault with intent to murder for the Nov. 21 incident in the 100 block of Reed Street.

He allegedly stabbed the man in the neck, fled the scene, then showed up at the hospital later that night for treatment of injuries he sustained during the assault.

The man that Johnson allegedly assaulted is still in the hospital and is listed in stable condition.  Johnson’s preliminary hearing is Dec. 9.
