BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. –SpartanNash will provide $2.75 million in economic incentives in Michigan following the announcement Tuesday of the merger between Spartan and Nash.
According to a news release, the money will be used to ensure the retention of 620 existing jobs as well as the creation of of 72 new jobs in West Michigan. It also means that the corporate headquarters will remain in the area.
The $2.75 million is granted through the Michigan Strategic Fund, a performance-based grant managed by the MEDC. The grant includes benchmarks for investment and job creation.
