WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Cooler air blowing over the relatively warm waters of Lake Michigan are providing some lake-effect precipitation. While it is mainly in the form of rain, we are getting some reports of just snow as well.
Because winds are from the northwest, areas along and south of I-96 will see the best chance of rain and snow. This image from our in-house computer model, Future Track, shows some of the potential snowfall accumulations. However, because the ground is warm, any accumulations won’t stick for long. That said, we had a report tonight from Hudsonville that the snow was sticking and that there was some slushy accumulation on the roads.
