KENT COUNTY, Mich. — The 51-year-old man accused of strangling his 29-year-old girlfriend to death in October will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Scott Hammer’s attorney asked a 63rd District Court judge for the evaluation during his appearance Wednesday.
Hammer was arrested in Sheridan after allegedly killing Danielle Scholten-Linderman Oct. 23 at a home in Spencer Township. He was taken into custody after allegedly setting their Montcalm County residence on fire after the murder.
