ALLEGAN, Mich.- Perrigo is recalling 18 batches of its acetaminophen infant suspension liquid this morning. The recall is for the liquid, 160 mg/5mL, that is sold in 2 and 4 oz. bottles with syringes in the box. The medicine is sold nationwide and distributed in retail stores, a list of those retailers and lot numbers are below.
Perrigo is recalling the medicine because the dosing syringes could be unmarked. The correct dosing syringes have a white or yellow plunger with specific dose markings for 1.25 mL, 2.5 mL, 3.75 mL, and 5 mL. If your syringes have these markings, you can use the medicine. Perrigo’s Chairman says nothing is wrong with the medicine itself and they have not received any reports of problems.
If you have one of the packages with an unmarked syringe, stop using the medicine and call Perrigo’s Consumer Affairs Department at 1-800-719-9260.
