GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- The group Healing Improv was formed a couple of years ago after founder Bart Sumner lost his son during a football accident. After getting back to work on the stage, Sumner realized that acting and improv can help heal grief and now he wants to share that with others in West Michigan.
If you want to participate in one of the workshops that Healing Improv offers there are a couple going on this fall.
A public grief workshop is being offered on November 7th from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre at 30 N. Division Ave. in Grand Rapids. There is also a teen and youth grief workshop being held on November 9th from 2-4 p.m. at Mosaic Church at 4275 Shaffer Avenue in Grand Rapids.
The group is also hosting a world wide candle lighting event on December 8th at 7 p.m. at Mosaic Church with Compassionate Friends to honor all of the children that have died.
All sessions are free but you are asked to reserve your spot ahead of time.
