BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Mich- A woman in Berrien County drowned on Friday after driving her riding lawn mower into a pond trapping her underneath.
According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, 66-year-old Linda Marutz was mowing the lawn near her pond when she accidentally drove the lawn mower into the pond causing the lawn mower to roll on top of her.
She was not able to free herself from underneath the mower and drowned.
The accident happened in the 2300 block of Michael Road.
This incident remains under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
