MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich – State Police Troopers continue to investigate a deadly crash that happened Sunday afternoon in Egelston Township.
Troopers say 63-year-old Darlene Sue Loper of Muskegon was killed when her vehicle struck another vehicle head on in the westbound lanes of Apple Avenue near Broton Street around 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
Loper was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle involved were taken to Hackley Hospital for treatment. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
The preliminary investigation revealed Loper wasn’t wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
