GOWEN, Mich.- One man is dead after an accident early Sunday morning.
It happened just before 8 a.m. in the 14000 block of Lincoln Lake Avenue. Officers say the pick-up truck was going south when it crossed the center line. The truck then hit a telephone pole, crashed into a fence and hit a tree.
Kent County Sheriff’s Deputies say the victim is Jimmy Scofield, a 58-year-old man from Gowen.
Lincoln Lake from 16 mile to Fargo was closed for over 5 hours, Sunday morning.
Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
