MATTAWAN, Mich.- A family is safe after a house fire in Mattawan on Friday night.
The first call came in around 8:30 p.m and crews were still on the scene at least 3 hours later. It happened in the 42000 block of Rowlings Street. Fire Department Officials say the fire started in a back screened porch area and quickly spread.
Officials say there were 4 people inside the house at the time but they all got out safely. They say the house is a total loss.
