PARIS, Mich. — Update on the Disappearance Of Amber Rose Smith .
The search area so far has concentrated on the four square miles around the Smith home, which is in Barton Township in Newaygo County northwest of Big Rapids. The search terrain included ravines and corn fields.
Amber, 2, was reported missing late Tuesday when she did not respond to calls from her parents.
Searchers will continue to search throughout the day and the search area has been approximately 1 mile. The search area will continue to expand throughout the day. The Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, FBI, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Forestry Service are jointly investigating her disappearance.
We are asking anyone who may have information regarding her disappearance or may have noticed something unusual in the area between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm on yesterday’s date to please call the tip line at 231-689-7037.
