Pleasant Fall-Like Weather Returns

Posted

WEST MICHIGAN —  A ridge of high pressure moves into West Michigan this morning allowing for skies to clear and winds to calm. Temperatures this morning cooled considerably with many areas north of Interstate 96 falling into the upper 30’s. During Autumn we tend to fall into a pattern of chilly mornings followed by warm afternoons. Dry fall air and sunshine help warm temperatures quickly throughout the morning and afternoon so even though many areas may start out with patchy frost the afternoon will be nice and pleasant.

Temperatures will continue on a warming trend for the rest of the week as afternoon high temperatures warm into the low to mid 70’s. High pressure centered over the Great Lakes for the next few days will allow for a large swing in daily temperatures as clear skies overnight allow temperatures to drop into the low 40’s. The ridge of high pressure sticks around for the rest of the work week before a passing system this weekend will bring rain chances and slightly cooler temperatures.
