PORTAGE, Mich. — A man was killed late Sunday night, when a vehicle struck him while he was running from police on I-94.
According to the Portage Department of Public Safety, one of their officers attempted to pull a driver over on eastbound I-94. The driver, a 30-year-old Portage resident, stopped his vehicle next to the median barrier wall, but then ran off. He jumped over the wall into the westbound lanes, where he was struck and killed.
The westbound lanes of I-94 were closed for roughly three hours during the investigation into this incident.
