GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– A homeowner is looking for answers after seeing what she calls her “dream home” partially damaged in an early morning fire.
The Grand Rapids Fire Department got the call around 2:44 a.m. Thursday that a home on the corner of Underwood Avenue SE and Fisk Road SE was on fire.
Crews discovered some flames coming from a back corner of the house. The homeowner tells us it is her sunroom.
Firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading. Most of the damage to the two-and-a-half story wood-frame home is from smoke and heat.
The homeowner and her three kids, who have all lived in the house for the past six years, have been staying with family for the past few days and were not home when the fire started. She says she does have insurance.
No word on what caused the fire.
