WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Warm and humid weather has returned to West Michigan, and it looks like it will hang around through Saturday.
This image from our in-house computer model, Future Track, shows an estimate of rainfall amounts through Saturday morning. Additional amounts are likely into Sunday morning. As you can see, some areas could get a lot of rain while others will see very little.
The reason for the potential for heavy rain is the amount of moisture in the air. Dew points have been running in the 60s for much of the day on Thursday. Not only is this fuel for rain and thunderstorm chances, it also makes it a little uncomfortable for sleeping.
Some cooler and less humid air is on the way but not until Sunday. In the meantime, it will be muggy with chances for showers and thunderstorms. The best chances of rain appear to be later tonight, Friday night, and Saturday evening.
