GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Two people were arrested after a witness saw them breaking an Artprize entry around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1.
Grand Rapids police say the witness saw a man and woman ripping a giraffe off the piece called “Noah’s Ark” at First United Methodist Church on Fulton Street.
Vandals had recently targeted this piece, ripping a dove out of the window of the ark.
Police say there’s no indication that the pair knows the artist or that they’re linked to the previous vandalism.
The two are facing charges of larceny over a thousand dollars.
