2 Hurt In Van Buren County Car-Motorcycle Crash

PAW PAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people were injured when a motorcycle hit a car Monday afternoon in eastern Van Buren County.

At 2:45 p.m. Monday, a 57-year-old Portage man was riding a motorcycle southbound on M-40, passing vehicles when the rider lost control, began to fishtail, entered the northbound lane and hit the side of a Chrysler 300 driven by a 43-year-old Decatur woman.

Both were hurt. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Lakeview Bronson Hospital in Paw Paw and then transferred to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo with serious injuries. The car’s driver was taken to Lakeview Bronson Hospital complaining of head pain.

The accident remains under investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
