Attempted Child Abduction Near An Elementary School

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich- Officers in Emmett Township are investigating a possible attempted child abduction near an elementary school on Friday.

According to the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety, a 9-year-old child was walking to Wattles Park Elementary School when an adult male asked the child to get in his vehicle.

The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the school. The child refused to get in and entered the school. The man then left in his vehicle.

The suspect is described as an older white male with long gray / white hair. He also had a beard and was wearing glasses.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored, small pickup truck.
