DETROIT, Mich- The Detroit Red Wings announced this morning, that 17 players have been assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Some of the players that have been sent to the Griffins include Jeff Hoggan, Tomas Jurco, Mitch Callahan, and Brennan Evans. All members of the 2012-2013 Calder Cup Championship team.

The Grand Rapids Griffins open the season on the road Friday, October 4th against Rochester. Their first home game and championship banner raising ceremony is scheduled for Friday, October 14th against Milwaukee.
