HART TWP., Mich.- Three people are in the hospital with serious injuries after a 2 car crash on Friday afternoon.
It happened on Northbound U.S. 31 near Polk Road. Michigan State Police say both vehicles were going north when one was speeding and slammed into the back of the other. Both cars then went off the road and rolled over, one person was ejected from the car.
A 19-year-old Shelby man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The people in the other car, a 52-year-old man and 57-year-old woman from Leslie, Michigan were both taken by Aeromed to the hospital. They both have serious injuries as well.
Northbound U.S. 31 between Shelby Road and Polk Road was shut down for about 4 hours in order to clean up the accident. Michigan State Police are still investigating. They do not know if drugs or alcohol were factors.
