SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A Michigan State Police trooper from the Hart post was shot Monday evening during a traffic stop at Custer and Townline in Mason County.
Two suspects, an unidentified male and an unidentified female, were arrested in Manistee County after police located them with a stolen vehicle.
FOX 17 has confirmed that the trooper was found shot in the head by a passerby and was transported to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries. One of the suspects was shot in the knee while attempting to flee, according to officials.
