ALPINE TWP, Mich — A pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Alpine Township. The call came in around 9:57 p.m. Saturday.

It happened in front of the Swan Inn Motel at the intersection of Alpine Avenue and 6 Mile NW. The Kent County Sheriff says when they got to the scene a 40-year-old Comstock Park man was found lying in the road, breathing but unresponsive.

Deputies say the vehicle was moving into the right turn lane and slowing down when it hit the man who had walked into the road.  When the driver realized what happened, he pulled over into the Swan Inn and called 911.

The investigation continues. If you have any information on this, you’re asked to call the Kent County Sheriff’s Department at 1-616-632-6239.
