MUSKEGON, Mich. — Before Muskegon senior quarterback DeShaun Thrower ran for four touchdowns in the Big Red’s 35-13 win over top-ranked Grand Rapids Christian on Friday, he was already considered to be one of the best football and basketball prospects in the state of Michigan.
He was also already playing with a heavy heart after the tragic loss of a childhood friend in February.
FOX 17’s Mitch Fick first met Thrower more than six months ago to talk about that loss – and reunited with him earlier this week to find out about how it’s pushing him in his senior season.
