Greenville House Burns While Home Owner Is Found Dead In Yard

generic police lightsEUREKA TOWNSHIP,Mich. — According to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office At approximately 7:45 P.M. on September 4, Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Greenville Department of Public Safety and Montcalm County EMS were dispatched to a fully involved house fire where the homeowner was found dead in the 11000 block of West Baker Road in Eureka Township, Montcalm County.

Family members of the homeowner who live nearby first spotted smoke at the residence and went to investigate. Upon arriving they found the homeowner, a thirty-five year old Greenville man, lying outside the home. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and is believed to have succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
