ALPINE TWP, Mich –A house in Kent County has extensive damage after an overnight fire.
Four departments responded to the home, on James Way Drive near Peach Ridge Avenue in Alpine Township.
The homeowner woke up to a popping noise, and was able to get out before the fire started in the garage. Firefighters had a hard time putting the flames out because there were no hydrants near the home, and it had a long driveway.
The investigation continues into the cause.
