DOGHOWARD CITY, Mich. — A scary crash for a 25-year-old expectant mother also left her and her family also without their dog Tuesday.

Ashley Terbeek, who is five months pregnant, crashed on US-131 about a half mile south of Cutler Road near Howard City.  Both she and her baby are expected to be okay.

During the crash her dog, Isa, was thrown through the front windshield and has not been found.   Terbeek’s husband Ross says she swerved to miss a deer and crashed into a tree.

“It’s really hard not being able to find (Isa) and not know where she is and wondering if she’s suffering,” Ross said.

Friends were out all day Tuesday searching for Isa in the heavy brush on the side of the highway.

Isa is a 130-pound Rottweiler with a pink plaid collar.  If you see her, call Montcalm County Animal Control at (989) 831-7355.
