MUSKEGON, Mich. — A 26-year-old man was charged Tuesday with assaulting two Muskegon County correctional officers Aug. 29.
Terry Wesley Raap could spend the rest of his life in jail if convicted on either of the assault with intent to murder charges. He was also charged with attempted escape from jail through violence and possession of a weapon in jail, all as a third-time habitual offender.
The officers Raap allegedly assaulted with pieces of concrete inside a sock sustained non-life threatening injuries. One required 14 stitches, and both suffered concussions. They have since been released from the hospital.
