HOPKINS TOWNSHIP, Mich- One man is in jail tonight after striking a large natural gas line near homes in Hopkins Township. According to the Michigan State Police, the driver struck a gas line near the intersection of 135th Ave. and 16th St. The gas line was shut off and no homes had to be evacuated.
The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Allegan County Jail.
This weekend already Troopers from the MSP Wayland Post have already handled nine traffic crashes and six OWI arrests.
