GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A bicyclist has suffered critical injuries after being hit by a car.

The accident happened on Thursday evening at Delaware and Madison in Grand Rapids’ southeast side.  Police say three bicyclists failed to stop at the westbound stop sign, and entered Madison Avenue in the path of oncoming traffic.  One of the bicyclists, Brandon James Walker was struck by a car.  He was taken to the hospital where he’s listed in critical condition.

The other two people riding with Walker saw the accident happen and rode off, leaving the victim at the scene.

The driver of the car was released, and this accident remains under investigation.
