GRPD: Latvian Hall a Problem Spot

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – An incident report from the Grand Rapids Police Department shows that the Latvian Hall has had several complaints since the start of the year.

Just this weekend, police said several fights broke out at the facility, resulting in a woman being shot in the arm. When police attempted to pull over a suspect near the hall, they said more shots were fired.

Andre Davis, was shot near Wealthy Street and Division Avenue. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

According to the incident report, 10 calls have come in from the establishment since January:

FOX 17 spoke with Lt. Patrick Merrill with the GRPD, who admits the hall is a problem area. He said they are still investigating this latest incident and that there are no suspects in custody.
