SOLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people suffered injuries as the result of a traffic crash on Sunday night, and police say alcohol likely played a role.
It happened at 18 Mile and Algoma Avenue in Kent County’s Solon Township. Chad Wehler, 22, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix on 18 Mile when he pulled out in front of a GMC Yukon, which struck Wehler’s car in the driver’s side door. Police say Wehler had been drinking.
Rescue crews arrived and had to extricate Wehler from his car. He was then flown to the hospital via Aero Med with possible life-threatening injuries. The other driver suffered minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
