GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After stubborn clouds, storms, and humidity lingered around West Michigan much of the day Thursday, more comfortable air is finally moving back into the region in time for the weekend.
High pressure will control the weather pattern, with a light breeze from the northeast and less humid air in place for Friday and Saturday. High temperatures should make it into the low 80s.
Sunday, a warming trend will kick in that will boost highs into the mid to upper 80s. That will lead to an increasingly hot and humid week next week.
The timing works out well for many of the big weekend events taking place in West Michigan, particularly the 28th Street Metro Cruise. The forecast for that event over the weekend is featured above.
Also this weekend, you can celebrate ethnic heritage with the Greek and Polish Festivals in Grand Rapids, as well as the Kalamazoo Scottish Festival. Hastings Summerfest and the Oceana County Fair are among some of the other options for family fun around the region before the pressure of getting ready for back-to-school time hits next week.
