OAK PARK, Mich. — Three West Michigan men were killed early Sunday morning in a crash on M-10 (Lodge Freeway) in Detroit. The crash happened around 12:30 a.m near Rosa Parks Blvd.
According to the Michigan State Police Metro Post, a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo traveling northbound on M-10 struck a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The Toyota rolled over as result of the crash.
The Toyota had 4 people inside the vehicle. Brian Kelly, a 67-year-old male and Daniel Kelly, a 31-year-old male from Kentwood and Keeland Johns, an 18-year-old from Grand Rapids died in the crash. The fourth person in the Toyota was taken to a local Detroit hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The family was heading home after the Tigers game.
The passenger in the Monte Carlo was also taken to a local Detroit Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the driver was uninjured.
Alcohol and speed appear to be possible factors in the crash.
