ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich- Two people are recovering in the hospital after their vehicle rolled over and caught fire overnight in Robinson Township.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened near the intersection of Buchanan Street and 112th Avenue. Deputies say 19-year-old Cameron Gwaltney of Covington, Georgia was traveling west on Buchanan St. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. After striking the tree, his vehicle landed on its side and then caught fire.
Mr. Gwaltney and his passenger 21-year-old Ashley Schiller from Grand Haven were able to get out of the vehicle and get themselves to a local hospital. They sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Deputies believe alcohol is a factor in the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
