GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Kent County Health Department says that mosquito testing in a random area Friday has revealed positive results for the West Nile virus. This means it’s likely that those mosquitoes are “likely in our county,” officials said in a release.
Last year, more than 40 human cases of the infection were confirmed in Kent County. Officials have released steps residents are encouraged to take to avoid being bitten. You can read those in the full press release.
