WEST MICHIGAN — (FOX 17) — Our extended break from the hot and humid weather will continue for a couple more days, then all indications are we are back to heat and humidity next week.
This image from our in-house computer model, Future Track, shows low temperatures Friday morning in the very comfortable range, though not as cool as Thursday morning’s low. In Grand Rapids, the low was 48 degrees, while some areas were even colder:
- Big Rapids, 44 degrees
- Marshall, 45 degrees
- Cadillac, 40 degrees
- Houghton Lake, 38 degrees
By next week, however, overnight lows won’t even fall below 65 degrees as a warm and humid airmass takes residence over Michigan. We are forecasting a high of 90 for next Thursday, in a summer that hasn’t produced many days this hot. So far this summer, Grand Rapids has hit at least 90 degrees only six times, from July 14 through July 19. At this point last summer, there had already been 30 such days.
