GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — ArtPrize opened 4,400 volunteer shifts Thursday for the 2013 competition.
According to a press release, more than 1,000 shifts were filled in the first four hours. Jobs include artist hosting, voter registration and leadership position. There are also two new positions this year, docents, who answer questions about specific art pieces, and Kids Room supervisors.
Training for these positions runs from Sept. 9 to Sept. 14. The competition begins Sept. 18 and ends Oct. 6.
