Police Investigate Shots Fired At Kentwood Apartments

generic police lightsKENTWOOD,Mich. — The Kentwood Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the parking lot of Old Farms Shores Apartments.

According to police on Sunday August 11, 2013 around 11:15 officers responded to an unknown accident in the parking lot of 2100 block of North Shore Dr.

Witnesses said that they heard several gun shots and observed a vehicle backed into the woods near the carport area.  They also observed a dark-colored vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

The victim of the crime has been located and interviewed by police.  The victim is a Grand Rapids resident who was coming to Kentwood to visit a friend.  Upon turning around in the parking lot, he was confronted by the suspects who were driving a black Chevrolet Traverse and another unknown vehicle.  They shot at his vehicle and fled the scene.  It is believed that there are at least two suspects with no known descriptions at this time.
