GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Three people were shot during a series of gunfire that broke out in Grand Rapids on Saturday night.
The Grand Rapids Police Department tells FOX 17 that it all began at about 6:30 p.m. They said there was an armed robbery near Fuller Avenue and Fisk Road. A man was shot in the hand there.
One hour later, another shooting took place in an alley located off of Eastern Avenue and Alger Street. Witnesses said gunshots were exchanged between the occupants of two cars. A man was shot four times, but police said he is expected to survive.
Then, at about 11:15 p.m., another man was shot twice near Lafayette Avenue and Highland Street. Officers said when they arrived at the scene nearly 100 people were crowding the streets. They said it took several hours to clear out the area.
All three victims are expected to survive.
Police said the incidents’ do not appear to be related.
As of Sunday morning no suspects were in custody.
