Former Counselor Now Charged in Kent County Sex Crime

Jeffery MarchioneKENT COUNTY, Mich. — The former counselor accused of having more than 42,000 images and videos of child porn on his computer has now been charged on the local level.

In addition to the four federal counts related to child porn and exploitation, 47-year-old Jeffrey Marchione has now been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Kent County.

Marchione was charged in the 63rd District Court on Thursday with that CSC charge and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. His bond has been set a $500,000.

According to court documents, Marchione said that he had raised or fostered more than 20 children over a number of years and mentored many more as a licensed counselor. His next local court date has been set for Aug. 21.

Prior to these Kent County, Marchione was accused of possessing tens of thousands of images and videos of child porn on his computer as well as a 150-page manifesto on how to find boys to molest.  He had no history of sexual abuse before these charges, but there was a 2006 domestic violence complaint against him stemming from an incident with his adopted son.
