Historic Church to Transform Into Apartments

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A church that has gone unoccupied for years will soon play a new role in the community.  616 Development is turning it into an apartment building.

It is the former Bethlehem Lutheran Church located at Prospect and Crescent in the city’s northeast side.  It hasn’t been occupied since the church relocated in 2007.

The developer is calling their apartment transformation 616 Lofts on Prospect, which fits their theme of established housing around the city.

The re-developed church will be home to 22 apartments that will include one studio apartment, eight one-bedroom units, and nine two-bedroom units.

616 Lofts on Prospect is expected to be ready for tenants in March 2014, with preleasing for the apartments set for December 2013.
