HOLLAND, Mich.- 18-year-old Jordan Vanderham from Holland is a regional scholarship winner in the Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program.
Vanderham designed, developed, and produced an economical solar panel for a community in Nicaragua as his scholarship project. The solar panel allowed the community to have a reliable power source. He raised money for the project by holding workshops to teach others to build their own solar panels.
He now moves on to the national level of the competition where he can win up to $10,000 in scholarships and a donation from the company to a charity of his choice.
